Fact Checker

Automated Verification of Scientific and Medical Claims

Fact checker

Overview

The Fact Checker tool is designed to verify the accuracy and validity of scientific and medical information.
Users can upload a short text or a screenshot containing scientific claims, and the system will automatically identify, extract, and fact-check each claim against external and/or internal sources.

How It Works

  1. Upload a text snippet or screenshot containing scientific/medical information (e.g., from a publication, presentation, or web page).
  2. The system automatically identifies and formulates one or more claims from the input text.
    Example input text:
“Ribociclib has been shown to have a significant overall survival benefit in patients with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced breast cancer. Whether this benefit in advanced breast cancer extends to early breast cancer is unclear.”

Claim #1: Ribociclib provides significant overall survival benefit in HR-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer patients.

Claim #2: It is unclear whether ribociclib’s overall survival benefit in advanced breast cancer applies to early breast cancer.

The system then checks each claim for accuracy:

Key Features & Customization

  • Multiple information retrieval models:
Users can select different search strategies (AI-driven search or classic keyword-based google-like search) for external source verification.
  • Internal and external sources:
The system can check claims against both public sources (internet, PubMed, open databases) and internal full-text documents uploaded by the user (e.g., proprietary research articles, company white papers).
  • Claim citation discovery:
Many users rely on this tool to find credible sources for facts they already know — streamlining the creation of presentations or scientific materials when unsure which reference to cite.

Fact checker

  • AI hallucination check:
This service is also widely used to verify AI-generated information and filter out hallucinations or factual errors.

Core Benefits

  • Automated, transparent verification: Instantly validate medical/scientific claims with direct citations and links to sources.
  • Flexible information search: Choose AI-powered semantic search or classic keyword search, and include your own document library.
  • Productivity boost: Quickly gather references for known facts, create evidence-based presentations, or fact-check reports.
  • Error prevention: Reduce the risk of propagating misinformation, including hallucinations from generative AI

Output

  • Results and supporting evidence are compiled and exported in editable Microsoft Word Online format.
    Example of report custom_250726__1723
  • Each claim is clearly marked as Supported / Contradicted / Inconclusive, with references and links for each outcome.
